About

Hi there! My name is Elle Smith. Born and raised in Nashville, I am a high schooler who wants to share the glory of God through my writing. The Lord has given me so many blessings with which I’ve learned a lot from. My hope is to spread God’s word to others in order to help reveal to them the blessings the Lord has provided to them.

Why “The Blessing Jar” you might ask? Well, to be honest, it was hard to come up with a name. You wouldn’t believe the amount of Christian blogs there are out there. But after I tried all of the names like “I am Yours” and “Live in the Light”, I thought of something unique, “The Blessing Jar”. I thought of this because one of my friend’s families has one in their home. When I go over to their house, they ask me to write down a blessing the Lord has given to me. At first, I was hesitant because it’s kind of personal, but then I realized, sharing what you’re thankful for is a way to reflect on how you are living your life. Someone once said, “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you might look back and realize they were big things.” By writing down your blessings, big or small, you will keep your eyes wide open to see God everywhere you go.

  1. Eleanor, or Elle, although I’ll always think of you as sweet Eleanor, I love that you’ve started this blog! Stephanie shared it with me, and I was so excited to check it out. You were a great writer in 2nd grade, and I’m so proud that you continue to write so beautifully. I know this blog will be an inspiration not just to your peers but also to many adults. Your writing is an awesome way to glorify God and to encourage and challenge others to honor Him too. I look forward to reading more of The Blessing Jar. Grace (Mrs. Wilkinson)
